    summary of position

    WB Games Inc. seeks a Product Marketing Manager for the WBG NetherRealm CTT department. NetherRealm Studios seeks a Product Marketing Manager for the NetherRealm Mobile department behind the “Injustice 2”, “Mortal Kombat X”, "Injustice" and “WWE Immortals” mobile games. Our incredibly talented, creatively-independent team brings premium action games to mobile platforms utilizing WB's most valuable and exciting properties.
    The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring the integration of the marketing function within the development process.  This position also serves as the bridge between development and the larger marketing organization, including brand marketing, product marketing, trade marketing and PR.  The manager works with other marketing functions to develop and facilitate marketing tactics throughout the product lifecycle and ensures WBIE products meet consumer demands.  Additionally, the manager oversees online consumer engagement strategies, as well as the creation of assets used in all forms of marketing and promotions by the worldwide organization. 

    job responsibilities

    • Ensures they are integrated into all relevant aspects of the game development process.  Uses marketing concepts and intelligence to inform development decisions and maximize product success.
    • Continually evaluates market intelligence, consumer patterns, and the competitive landscape for product strategies and insights.  Commissions research and testing to identify commercial strengths and challenges.  Exploits this information throughout the development process to recommend adjustments that will ensure product viability and proper market positioning.
    • Works closely with other functional areas across NetherRealm including Product Management and WB Interactive Entertainment (e.g. Brand Managers, PR, Product Marketing, etc.) to develop and facilitate successful consumer and media marketing tactics throughout the development cycle.
    • Managing and executing mobile creative work process with internal teams and external agencies.
    • Oversees and cultivates WBIE’s brand image and reputation via multiple channels including social media, PR agencies.
    • Identifies, develops and executes strategies for establishing and growing online communities around NetherRealm titles.
    • Reviews new intellectual property opportunities under consideration by WBIE and provides evaluation and analysis to Senior Management regarding consumer viability.
    • Ensures effective communication between development and marketing staff at all phases of the product lifecycle.  Identifies and implements communication vehicles and process improvements to ensure successful orchestration of marketing and development activities.
    • Trains Producers and other development staff on best practices for demonstrating product to external parties.  Where appropriate, serves as product spokesperson and demonstrates product to significant audiences.

    job requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field required.
    • MBA is a plus.
    • 5+ years marketing experience within interactive media industry.
    • At least 3 years of experience within the game industry preferred.
    • Experience within multiple game platform is a plus (mobile & console).
    • Must have thorough understanding of the game development process and cycles.
    • Requires a strong competitive knowledge of the games market (e.g. past and current game feature sets, title performance, marketing tactics, etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal.  Must be able to manage communications effectively across a worldwide organization.
    • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple competing products simultaneously. 
    • Must be collaborative and an effective negotiator.
    • Must be a resourceful and creative problem solver.
    • Requires a self-starter with high level of initiative.
    • Strong sense of ownership required.
